She sustained a spinal cord injury in 1991 which resulted in quadriplegia. She was paralyzed from the neck down, confined to a wheelchair that she operated by blowing in a straw. Over the years, she has relearned how to dress herself, feed herself, sit, stand and now walks with assistance. She has learned how to access and utilize the incredible power of the mind to reduce suffering and pain. She has strategies and techniques that can help individuals, and their family members, cope with the many changes that follow a serious medical condition, illness or injury.
